These are real innovations by farmers across India — a weeder you sit on, a funnel that puts fertiliser at the root, a solar dryer built from drink cans. We retell them in plain language, and always name the farmer and the district. Every story is drawn from ICAR's 2025 compendium of 110 farmer-led innovations. Where ICAR says an idea still needs scientific testing, we say so too.

Where this comes from — Stories here are retold in our own words from an ICAR publication of 2025, which documents 110 farmer innovations recorded across the country. Copyright in the original text and photographs rests with ICAR. The mobile numbers printed in the original are deliberately left out here. Many of these ideas are still awaiting scientific validation, and each story says where that applies. Talk to your nearest KVK before spending money on any of them.
